In 2008, I was roped into a little project called Speedhunters by EA Games. It’s evolved into one of the biggest petrolhead hubs out there, so I guess I must’ve done something right in those early days Especially when blogging was still finding its feet. After being tied to the project for many years, I’ve been freelancing for a while now. More freedom, no longer shackled to one outlet to showcase my shots.
Before I joined Speedhunters, I had my own little corner of the internet, a blog called Kultivate. That was my ticket to the big leagues. Back then, I was mostly scrolling through the web, posting pics of cars that caught my eye. Things shifted when I was pushed to start snapping my own shots. The rest, as they say, is history.
But, there’s always been this itch. Most of what you capture as a photographer never sees the light of day, for various reasons. Plus, I’m a bit tired of the social media algorithm game and the endless chase for likes. So, I went searching for a “new” way to share my photos. But why reinvent the wheel when there’s something already out there that I know well? Blogging. But in the style I used to do it, pre-Speedhunters days.
Long story short, I’m going back to where I began. A personal blog where I can post whatever I want, whenever I want as long as it is car related.
Streetwell, a name that’s been bouncing around my head for years, but now it’s finally coming to life. For now, it’s just in the digital realm, but who knows where this journey will take me.
