Squadra Bianca Spirit: A Giulia Super 1.3

The Alfa Romeo Giulia has always been more than just a beautifully proportioned Italian saloon. When it debuted in the early 1960s, it set a new benchmark with its lightweight construction, surprisingly advanced aerodynamics, and the now-legendary twin-cam four-cylinder engine that gave even the smaller-engined cars a properly spirited character.

The 1.3-litre Super embodies that philosophy perfectly, compact, responsive, and built for drivers. Its motorsport pedigree runs just as deep. Across various touring car series, the Giulia proved itself as a giant killer, and championships like Squadra Bianca. An all-Alfa touring car class built around Giulia models only reinforced its reputation as a true driver’s car.

This example seen at Royal Fitment 2026 carries that heritage in a very tangible way. Up front, it runs a race-derived suspension setup sourced from a former Squadra Bianca race car, linking it directly to that era of Giulia competition. At the rear, the setup has been upgraded with components from Alfaholics, sharpening the chassis while retaining its classic balance.

It sits on 15-inch, 7.5J-wide wheels supplied by an Italian manufacturer, wrapped in semi-slick tyres that underline its intent. Inside, a Nardi steering wheel adds the right touch of period-correct character. Under the hood, the original 1300cc twin-carbureted engine remains in place, paired with a custom exhaust for a more purposeful soundtrack. Finished in its original colour, this Giulia strikes that perfect balance, authentic at its core, but subtly honed where it matters most.
