Three Rare Skylines at Ultrace Düsseldorf

At Ultrace, I saw these three incredible Nissan Skylines. Each one represented a different generation of GT-R history and they all belong to one owner. He was more than happy to share some knowledge and why these cars are so special.

The first car was a beautiful 1971 Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R (KPGC10) powered by the legendary S20 engine. Nissan built only a little over 1,900 of these cars. The car already sits on KW suspension and classic Watanabe wheels. As a result, it has that perfect old school JDM look.

However, the project is far from finished. Right now, the owner is trying to get all the correct documents to make the car street legal in Germany. Unfortunately, German regulations are very strict, especially for imported classic cars.

After the registration process is complete, the Skyline will receive a full restoration. First, the body will go through chemical and thermal paint stripping. Then, the shell will receive a KTL coating for corrosion protection. After that, the car will undergo complete metal restoration before receiving another KTL coating. Finally, every part will be carefully assembled again. The goal is clear: create a perfectly restored GT-R in flawless condition.

Next was an even rarer car, the 1973 Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R (KPGC110). Nissan built only 197 examples of this model. Because of that, seeing one in person felt very special especially seeing it outside of Japan.

What impressed me most was the condition. The car still wears its first paint almost everywhere.

For the event, the owner installed lowering springs and Watanabe wheels. Giving the Skyline that old school feel with extra meaty tires. Still keeps its original character and authentic appearance. It feels more preserved than restored, which makes it even more impressive.

The final car was a more modern Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R M-Spec from 2002 finished in Silica Brass. The condition looked almost brand new. In fact, the car has covered just over 19,000 kilometers.

Furthermore, the history has been fully checked, and the GT-R has had only one owner since new. For show purposes, the owner added KW suspension, LMGT1 400R wheels, and a Nismo odometer. Should have taken more photos of this car, but with so many cars there it seemed that I only took one photo from the rear.

Seeing these three Skylines together created the perfect timeline of GT-R history.
